ABOUT LUKE MAGNUS
Hello! My name is Luke Magnus, a Redondo Beach local bringing intentionality back to photography. We live in an era of photo hyper-inflation, an endless feed of meaningless pictures. My goal is to break that cycle by shifting the perspective, creating images that feel natural, dramatic, and deeply nostalgic. With over six years of experience flying drones and shooting on DSLRs and mirrorless systems, I’ve used the South Bay as my ultimate training ground. After three years working locally at Trader Joe’s, Manhattan Beach, I am fully transitioning into my career behind the lens. Currently majoring in photography at El Camino College, I am accepting new clients across the greater LA area for events, portraits, and creative projects.
My approach
I am a firm believer in doing the work behind the lens, not behind a computer screen. I don't use Photoshop as a crutch. Instead, I focus heavily on dialing in the exact camera settings, nailing the composition, and mastering the light in the moment—whether we are utilizing natural outdoor lighting or I am building out a precise external flash setup. I edit as minimally as possible in Lightroom, ensuring every final image is properly exposed, crystal clear, and completely true to the environment we shot it in.

I am highly adaptable and comfortable behind the camera in almost any environment. My current booking categories include:
Products & Macro: I specialize in extreme close ups and focus stacking techniques. Using software and studio strobe lights no heavy photoshop manipulation required.
Portraits & Candids: Delivering everything from tack-sharp professional shots to nostalgic, documentary-style moments.
Events: Capturing the authentic, unposed energy of the room.
Pets: Freezing fast-moving, unpredictable subjects perfectly in frame.
